Gallium-71
Properties and data of the isotope 71Ga.
Gallium-71 is a stable isotope of the chemical element gallium, comprising 39,9 % of terrestrial gallium deposits. The atomic nucleus of this nuclide contains 40 neutrons in its atomic nucleus in addition to the element-specific 31 protons; the sum of the number of these atomic nucleus building blocks results in a mass number of 71.
Gallium-71 was discovered - according to a report from 1923 [1] - during the mass spectrometric analysis of Gallium trifluoride.
